i just got my psu today,im not a total noob when it comes to building a pc,but its been at least 10 years since i first learned how to. anyway, the psu is the EVGA 500B 500W power supply, not modular, and i want to test it,along with the case fans in my Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 to mke sure they arent DOA. i havent received a motherboard yet (ordered it today from Newegg, should be here next week) because im kinda building it as i get paid, buying a part every other week or so. Anyways, without any special adapters, which i wasnt sure i might need when i first ordered what i have, is there a way to test the case fans? I understand how to test the PSU itself, so if anyone has tips on hooking the PSU to the fans to test them, I would really appreciate it.

It's dubbed a paper clip test by which you actually need to give load towards the PSU and the perfect candidate is a case fan though I'm quite certain that the case fans that come bundled with your SPEC-02 are all 3 pin motherboard fan headers. You'll need to add a 3 pin to molex fan header adapter to power your fans.

Here's how you go about doing the paper clip test on your PSU:
