Im new to Laptop Hardware, However Im looking to Upgrade My laptop, Starting with CPU and Ram. I have an Asus k53e I picked up for 200$. It is relatively fast Considering the cost. Although I know Very Little about Laptop Hardware and I know Even less about Intel Hardware.

I need to Know First off, If I upgrade the CPU Will I be able to install more then 8gb of Ram.

What Cpu's Are Compatible. And Whats the fastest Ram I can Install.

I Would Like to upgrade to a Quad-Core CPU, With an Embedded Intel HD 4000 GPU.

And I would like to Upgrade the Memory To a faster Speed because the GPU Runs off the ram If I understand Correctly.

Let me know of Compatible CPU's and Maximum Ram Speeds

And Please Give me Links So I can Verify Information (I am Not Looking for the Out of date Asus Specs on the K53E Page, I have seen Sites like corsair selling Cpu and Ram Upgrades that are Faster then the maximum stated on the Asus Page)

Solution
No, you cant. This is a Desktop cpu, you can't use it on a laptop. You can't get an Embedded intel hd 4000 as well. Your laptop supports only 2nd gen so that means intel hd 3000. Fastest CPU you can install is i7 2670QM, if you can't find it then i7 2630QM (slightly lower clock). Most ram you can install is 8gb DDR3 1333mhz.

Is 1333mhz really the best this Laptop can use? Is it a Hardware Restriction or Bios Restriction?
Also I already have a 2.1ghz Dual Core CPU, I care Very little about Getting a quad core thats only mildly faster then my Current Dual core. (Don't See much point If the only time I'm lagging is in games, and those games Only Run on 1 Thread)

Im using an Intel Core i3 2310m
PS: Ive been Trying to Figure out what CPU's are Compatible With Socket (Not Based on the Outdated Asus Specs Page) and In doing so I have Been using CPU-Z

Cpu-z Is Listing 2 Different "Package" Types For the Socket
1.72: Socket 1023 FCBGA
1.61.3: Socket 988B rPGA

Which Socket does the K53E Have?

Could Bios Modding Get around the limitations? If done Correctly? *I am currently already using a moded Bios*
If so would it be possible to add support for the i7 2860QM?
