Hi there.
I recently just built my first gaming pc and since then have been experiencing this crash which happens on a daily basis now.
The crash itself consists of the screen going black (so far only when gaming or watching videos) and then any sound originally playing continues playing for a few seconds before getting stuck in a loop (have a recording of it but no idea how to upload it). Then, the only way out of this is by holding the power button down until it turns off.
Had a look at the Event Viewer and got the following report:

Log Name: System

The build itself is running Windows 10 and the specs of it are:
Intel i5 4460 Quad Core CPU
ASRock B85M Pro4 Motherboard
Seasonic S12-II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified
Crucial Ballistx BLS2C4G3D18ADS3CEU Sport XT 8GB (4GBx 2)
Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB
Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I Network Card
Radeon R9 380 "DD Dual Fan" 4096MB

Have spoken to Microsoft's tech support who said it was apparently the PSU not being compatible with Windows 10 (????).
If anyone could help me i would be forever grateful, as the PC is becoming borderline unusable.
Thanks in advance,
Finlay

Solution
The report is likely triggered by holding down the power button. The hangup, however, could be a PSU compatibility issue with your chipset/CPU. I did a bit of research and found a "Haswell ready" PSU includes ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 compatibility, whereas yours conforms to v2.3 and EPS 2.91 standards. This may be where your issue lies.

Thank you for your response. What would you recommend i do? Get an entirely different PSU? And if so, which one?

I would recommend a different PSU. In general you'll want one that has Active PFC, "Haswell ready" or complies with Haswell power requirements, 5 year warranty, and as many protections as possible. The better the PSU the more it will cost, but high cost doesn't always mean better quality. There are some known high-quality manufacturers and Seasonic is one of them, so you may simply want to look for a similar Seasonic model with the updated standards.

Tried stress testing to see if was GPU/PSU related and it didnt crash..any other suggestions?

It may not be GPU related. It could be CPU, memory, or chipset related since that's what the standard was designed for. I would say that since you are running a Haswell platform and don't appear to be running a Haswell-compatible PSU, that would be the first place to look. You might want to give Seasonic a call and verify though.

Hi again!
Emailed them a dew days ago, still no reply from them. Contemplating just returning it to Amazon, as im becoming very impatient now as it is now crashing on a daily basis.
Have had a additional troubleshoots since last post:
- Reinstalled Windows
- Double checked power supply cables
- Bought a new fan to improve airflow
- Stress tested CPU and GPU as well as monitoring temps with no changes

Sorry to be a pest, but could you recommend anything else?
Really at a loss at this point, would appreciate any further help.
Your welcome, just glad someone replied!

The best I can recommend is getting a new PSU, and waiting for a response from Seasonic. If the problem is indeed because it's not Haswell compatible, then the only solution is to get one that is. If they're willing to send one to you, awesome. If not, then you've gotta bite the bullet and buy one :( At least you'll know for sure if that's the problem.

What would be your budget for a PSU? What's the most you'd be able to spend on one? If it were me, I'd get the best one that I could afford.

Anything around £60. Can go higher if need be, hoping Amazon will give me a refund. Going to try phone Seasonic tomorrow, hopefully they can help in some way. Not looking forward to getting the PSU out, put so much time into cable management :(

Completely given up on Seasonic now, just realised i have literally an hour left to get a refund from Amazon, would you advise sending it away?
Cheers.
