OK, I know my question was probably pretty stupid to ask on a forum of people that build super gaming computers and deal with problems far more complicated than the one I asked about but I thought I would actually get a decent reply here. I only had two people reply (thanks) but it seems like they may have gotten bored by my follow up questions and moved on.
The suggestion of adding a graphics card was probably a good one but one wouldn't fit, one required too much power, and the last one was iffy with my power supply. When I asked about replacement power supplies and whether the last graphics card would be compatible with my computer the thread just kind of died. I don't want to buy a graphics card and then find out my computer won't recognize it or I have to do a whole lot of other stuff to get it to - I actually thought I wouldn't need a new card when I bought the computer and would be fine for what little I actually wanted to do. I probably have the skills to upgrade the graphics card and power supply but have never done either and if I ran into problems I would kind of be screwed because I don't know any real computer geeks locally.
So, I guess this is what I've learned so far.
If I up the resolution to 2560x1600 on my Intel HD Graphics 2500 my computer will probably melt down because nobody ever tried that before.
If I buy a GT 730 it might not even work with my computer and has a "recommended" 300 watt minimum power supply requirement and "might" be OK with the 240 watts my power supply has.
No one seems to know if there are any larger power supplies that will fit this SFF computer (I couldn't find any, anyway).
Maybe there's a different website I should be on for the piddly-assed problems I'm asking about - any suggestions?
(that's a joke but feel free to insult away lol)
