This build is what I was suggested by my friend and similar what I have been also thinking myself: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/sJLx4D

- I basically want all-around capable build
- Having good base for upgrading later is a big plus
- The more silent the build the better, is there better case with that in mind?
- Do I need CPU cooler if Im not looking to overclock? Should I look into overclocking?
- Budget is not set in stone, I can wait a bit and improve my budget if gains for small extra sum is big
- I prefer more dependable manufacturers over cheaper ones and dont mind Im paying a little extra for that comfort
- Anything I have missed? Suggestions? Thanks!

I will be getting monitor later on and my current fairly mediocre one will do for month or two.

Hopefully I can offer some insight here. First off, if you aren't planning on overclocking then the stock Intel CPU cooler that comes with the CPU is sufficient. At that point though, you can save a little bit of extra money and go with the locked i7 and an H97 series board as neither overclocks. Personally with how little a decent CPU cooler costs I'd be tempted to say get a cheap air cooler just because they look cool, but again, if you don't care then it's totally optional. Conversely I've had several overclocked Intel processors and have had nothing bad to say about them.

Regarding the CPU choice, is there a reason you're going for the i7? It's only really worth it if you're video editing and recording on a consistent basis. If it's just a computer that's mean to be a solid performer in games then an i5 is something you could consider.

Here's a build with the locked processor and an H Series board. Goes over the 1000 pound price that the other one was around, but by about 100 pounds since the price wasn't included for the PSU. Not sure on the PSU quality either. Went with a tier 1 PSU according to the Toms Hardware list (which I can link if you'd like)

Option 1 - Locked i7 w. 980ti

This one is assuming that you're primarily going to be gaming with the machine, where an i5 is the sweet spot for price vs. performance. This one will have a solid Air Cooler since it's an unlocked processor and can be overclocked

Option 2 - Unlocked i5 w. Cooler and 980ti

First I changed to skylake, there is nowhere to pgrade to from the 4790K, whereas on skylake you still have the 6700K to go to and thats the latest gen so all the new stuff is being added to this platform. You also won't need a new graphics card for a while. What you could do is get a much cheaper card now, bare with for a bit and buy a really good Pascal card and sell the older one. If you wanna lower the price you can get a cheaper mobo, this one is just full of great features and goes well with the colour scheme etc.
Storage and case were all good, i had to change the RAM to make it compatible with skylake but otherwise all good there.
I also got a higher quality PSU which you will be glad for.
I wouldn't suggest a 980 unless you can get it at a really good price, because it's kinda too expensive and not enough of a performance gain vs the 390/390x and 970

Pretty sure I will be getting GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card. I likely will be doing some recording so i7 is what I like, but I will consider 6700K matt recommended.

The Power suply you guys both listed doesnt seem easy to find for me locally. Any tier 1 PSU's you would recommend instead?

Is Asus Z97 PRO GAMER ATX LGA1150 Motherboard bad? Or is the price/quality ratio low or something?

I would also like to highlight that the more silent the build is the better, if theres anything I can improve to achieve that let me know. Is the Fractal Define R5 with window more noisy than the one without?

Thanks for the replies!

No get Z170, for your budget it will be more "future proof" even though there isn't such a thing. And having a window in no way shape or form impacts noise.

And as far as power supply goes - what country are you from? You should be able to get the EVGA G2s in the UK very easily and most of Western Europe. I don't know about availability in Eastern Europe though. You want nothing less than EVGA G2 or Seasonic.

Here's what I would suggest:
