Ok so I have a dell Inspiron 15 3521, and early today I broke the dvd drive , don't ask how, anyways I pulled the dvd drive out of the laptop, made sure not to damage anything, but once I got the dvd drive out I had to mangle it all up to get the dvd out of it, now when I start my laptop it just says media error, and now I can't start my laptop normally and use it without it not warning me that media device is missing, what I'm wondering is there anyway I can still use the laptop without the DVDs drive? Any help I would be grateful for, btw it is running windows 8..
Can someone help me??!!

It sounds like the boot order got out of sync, and if that's the case, then it's an easy fix. Boot your laptop up and find the option for "Setup", it's usually F2 or DEL. Once you're in there, look for the "Boot Options" area. Make sure the HDD is designated as the first boot device and USB or CD-ROM is second. Save changes and exit and that should fix your problem.
