I set my desktop in the seat of my car but it slid off onto the floorboard (about a foot). When i tried to start it it would turn off the led on the back of the power supply. I started looking things up to find out what could be wrong, so far I tried the power supply test with the paper clip and the fan does turn on. When I only have the motherboard plugged in, the fans and lights will turn on for a split second but when i plug in the cpu and try it, it immediately turns off the led on the power supply and doesn't spin any fans. I hope someone can help me out.

Specs:
HP Pavilion p7-1187c
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03017283 but with a geforce gtx 660 graphics card

If it's shutting off after turning it on, this could mean a few things:

- Something is loose: check the processor/heatsink, graphics card, RAM modules, etc
- The power supply might have taken some damage, there are official testers out there you can buy

Is there by chance another PSU you can try? That will give you some answer.

To check the heatsink and processor is simple. In order for the CPU to work correctly, the heatsink needs to be sitting tightly ontop of it inside it's mounts. So that silver thing ontop of the processor needs to be firmly in there; all screws are tight, etc. I would also take the processor out and reseat it. Doing that would check the heatsink anyway.
