Specs:

Processor: AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon HD graphics

Ram:8 GB

Graphics Card:AMD Radeon HD 8670D

Also, I am on windows 10 if that helps.

Solution
A discrete gfx card will be the best upgrade for an instant performance increase. But which card you can use, will depend on the make/model of your PSU.

Can you do this with hp pavilion?? And when you say speed, do you mean start up time? Or does it give higher frames aswell?

Thank you!! Also my current of has 12gb of RAM, 1x8gb and 1x4gb, would I be able to swap out the 4gb with any other ddr3 8gb strip?

AS long as it matches the specs of your motherboard, yes. But for best results, always buy you RAM in matched sets. Dual channel RAM is picky sometimes about timings, voltage, capacity, etc.
And some boards will drop back to single channel mode if the 2 sticks are not the same size.

here is a guide i can tell you for upgradeing a pre built
first. check your psu pre builts very often have very small psu's so you need to be careful on that.
second. check your cooling for an upgrade the fans on a prebuilt may (and most likely) not be good so you need to consider that.
third. check your mother board because many pre built pcs do not have good mother boards so you need to make sure a good gpu will not kill it or even fit in the first place

now with that said for a upgrade i would get a gtx 950 or 960 if your psu and mother board can handle it

Ok, could you recommend a pair of 8gb DDR3 strips that could work with this motherboard?
