H100i Temperature Issues

Hello,

I recently installed the H100i to my I7 4790k, and am noticing all round fairly high temperatures. Idling around 35-40 degrees and in Prime 95 V26-6 my temperatures get into the high 70's.

One thing that will be contributing to this is that I am running an XMP profile, making my CPU constantly work at 4.4Ghz, but still, I would expect more out of a decent water cooler!

Wondering what you guys' temperature are like with this cooler, and if you think there is possibly an issue with mine.

The mobo will over compensate when set to auto. I'm sure its running anywhere from 1.3-1.45v's when you really only need 1.25v's or less. Go into your bios and set it to manual. Start around 1.25v's and go from there using prime95.

This'll have a big impact on your temps.

Well, there goes that idea. Next thing I would do is reseat the H100 Cooler with fresh thermal paste making sure not to use to much. Be sure to screw those things down all the way, they will stop on there own without crushing anything.

That's the thing. I have re-seated it a good 3 times now, all times with a conservative amount of MX-4.

EDIT: Just realised whilst looking through HWINFO, that my CPU actually thermal throttled :(

I have the H100i as well, i7 4790k oc'd to 4.6ghz full time. Ran handbrake for about 2 hours yesterday, full load, maxed at 75C.
Voltages set to auto in bios. Motherboard has plenty of auto settings for set overclocks. I don't get into it that much.

Using the latest corsair drivers? Fans are spinning? Pump is pumping? Ensure the pump/cooler is seated properly and is not loose after tightening.

Hey,

Everything seems to be pretty good as drivers and fans go, Corsair Link is reading pump and fan all fine. The cooler was tightened properly when I put it on, but I will check.
