Alright, now, im no newbie on hardware AT ALL, in fact I'm really well skilled with it, except for one thing. Screens. So, I have a REALLY old Gateway laptop, Vista old, but, I still use it for general things when I'm rendering things on my main rig. But a while back, I got some water in my screen blah blah, took the screen apart, the screen cracked in the corner. Obviously, there was a black mark were the crack was. But, the screen still works. It was PURE black when it cracked, but now its about 6 months later, and I notice that its faded a little. I can start to see the desktop in the area again. Does this mean that the screen is fixing itself over time?

No it won't fix itself, but the black was probably fluid that escaped from the screen and may have evaporated to show you more of what was behind it. The damage is permanent but working parts of the screen may be hiding behind the black.
