Hello, I could use some assistance in getting my Alienware 17 R2 laptop back up and running after getting the BSOD right in the middle of a BIOS update when the screen specifically stated not to shut down the computer. I downloaded the BIOS update from the Dell website and started install right after a fresh install of Windows 10.

Initially the PC screen went black after the BSOD and the lights and fan kept running at a pretty high tempo for about 5 minutes before I just had to unplug the battery from the motherboard.

I have tried unplugging the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds to try and power drain the system and then plugging the battery back in and trying to start it up by holding the power button. Nothing works there. I went ahead and removed the battery pack from the laptop and reinstalling the battery pack. So that maybe if there were some components that were still receiving power somehow that they could reset or something? After that I tried to boot up again and still nothing the computer just sits there, no lights no fans, nothing....

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great day!

Solution
There is no reset, the CMOS chip that holds the bios on the motherboard is wiped and no longer has data on it. The bios is gone, and because the BIOS is gone the hardware cannot interact with itself and it is no longer able to work. You have to replace the motherboard or replace the entire laptop itself.
