Hi there,

I just purchased an R9 380 4GB GPU and am looking to hook it up to my system. I have a 600W ATX PSU with one free Molex & 4 Pin duel cable and one free sata & sata duel cable. Could I get by with using a Sata to Molex adapter and then Molex to 6pin? I need 2 6x2 pin lines of power for the gpu. Thanks!

Solution
I'm guessing it's a Cyberpower "gaming" PC? That power supply is bad, you don't want to have it powering a pricey video card. Check on the models in the link above and replace it.

Thanks for checking in! I think it is an Xtreme Gear 600W ATX Power Supply from www.buyx9.com. Maybe some sort of off brand?

I took a pic of the PSU which can be seen at http://imgur.com/a/Ppx7c

you need to get a proper power supply with the pcie cables you need

550w or better, tier 1 or 2 power supply from this list:

adapters are not recommended with such bottom tier units as the one you currently have

Thank you guys for your responses! I am thinking of getting this PSU from Amazon (Looks like it is on the Teir One list):

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 80+ GOLD, 750W ECO Mode Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI and Crossfire Ready 10 Year Warranty Power Supply 220-G2-0750-XR

Do you guys know if this PSU has the right cable to power my ATX MB? In addition to the 24 pin connector, I need an ATX 12+ connector, which is a four pin cable, also nicknamed P4.

Thanks!

it has 8-pin that can split into 4+4, you plug whichever 4-pin you want into the mobo 4-pin header

AWESOME.

Pulling the trigger on this PSU. Thanks again for the quick responses. Finally, would 750W be fine for the next couple of years if I don't overclock and don't crossfire? What If I want to upgrade GPU's in the future, would this 750W still suffice?
