Hi guys I have recently built my PC and have saved buying my gpu for last so I could have it up and running originally I was going to get a gtx 970 but now I have realised I'm going to have a bit more money then I originally expected and can in fact afford a 980 my question is that is it worth for me to get the 980 as in will it last much longer and give me a much better performance overall I'm not going to be playing huge triple A titles but I may do in the future. Here is my build I don't know if a 980 would be overkill for it though.
Mobo: msi z97 gaming 5
Cpu:i5 4690
Ram: corsair vengeance pro 2x8
Power supply: corsair Cs650m
My monitor is a AOCg246pqu 144hz gaming monitor excuse me if I got it wrong I'm pretty sure that's it
The rest would not matter just a normal case hard drive and ssd
All help is greatly appreciated look forward to hearing from u guys.

Solution
980 will go fine with everything and no bottleneck with your GPU.

Maybe its a little overkill for @ 1080p, but it will be fine with future games.
