I have a 3TB HDD full of content that I can't access as it shows as RAW. I have used gdisk and it gives me the following message:
"Caution: partition 1 does not begin on a 8-sector boundary."
How do I fix this while retaining my data.

Hey there, bloggo3.

Seem like the partition has been corrupted for some reason. Whether it is software or physical, I really can't tell. You could try accessing the drive via Ubuntu Live USB in hopes that it recognizes the drive and its partition properly, so that you can get to your data. Your other options are data recovery software or partition recovery. You can find a bunch of data recovery software suggestions here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm and here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html. And last, but not least, if all else fails (or if your data is very important and you don't want to take any chances), you should go for a professional solution...

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
