So I am building a new system but don't want to get a new hard drive. The drivers on the new system will be different but I am an insider for windows 10 so can download it to a disk. Could u wipe the drive and re install windows on it?
Just want to throw out there about hard drives, as the most expensive mechanical part of your system I consider them as consumable items with a finite lifespan. Generally if you got 6 or 7 years from a consumer HD you should consider that a win, back up your data and get yourself a new one. Just keep the age of the drive in mind when recycling to a new build.
