CPU is at 70C when running game

Hey,
Whenever I run a game (Counter-Strike 1.6) RealTemp says my CPU is running at 70C while the maximum temp for my CPU is ~72C (I use Intel i7 870).

But, if I use the task manager to see how much % is being used, it's only 30%.

Not sure if this is okay or not, when Idle it's like 38-40C.

Hello... You not in a danger zone at 70C... Is it a STOCK intel cooler? then it's normal for push pins.
But as a "simple test" remove a cover off your case and re-test high and low temps.

You could probably reseat the cooler and see if it helps. Check on the thermal paste too. If that doesn't do it, get another cooler.

and their name will be on it... and the plastic push pin mounting to the MB is not the best force/contact.

Buy an aftermarket and some good thermal paste. Cryorig H7 with arctic silver 5 is good combo. Dont know if that fits your socket though, check taht

Hello... Your temps are normal for your current cooler... there are better options if you want lower them to or below the 60's?

70C at full load is fine, just make sure it doesn't get to 85C, then you've got a problem.

Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your PC.

It is quite old, so I wouldn't bother spending any money on trying to improve it - just enjoy using it.

UPDATE: I cleaned some dust from the fans and the CPU, and now I'm not even reaching 70C when gaming.
