Hello,

I have ordered a Shield Tablet K1 and as it doesn't come with one I need a charger, Nvidia's own costs 17.99. Is it worth it buy this or is there a aftermarker 2.1A charger and micro usb cable that would do the trick for less.

Many Thanks

The beauty of Android devices is that basically any micro-USB charger will work. There isn't really much of a danger of overcharging unless you get really cheap knockoffs, since batteries are designed to protect against that these days. If you own any other Android devices, you should be able to use the same charger for the K1. Worst case scenario, it puts out slightly less juice than needed, meaning the K1 will charge up slower.

Don't buy cheap USB cables from Amazon because the tablet takes days to charge..
By the time you spend all money buying cheap USB cables you'd have spent same money buying a genuine one.
