Yes the Asus Xonar DG is a great gaming and high end audio card as well! As long as your headset is standard audio headphone jack and not USB get it, you won't regret it. I have had mine for years and have used it in both its regular amplified to make nice headphones sound great, and for my home theater system using its optical audio output. If your headset is USB, it won't use the sound card 
My headphones are the Razer Carcharias with the larger 50mm drivers, and they like the extra power the DG provides.
