As the title says I currently run a single GTX 780, my question is would I see a noticeable increase if moving to a 970 with the potential of SLI in a couple months? I just picked up the ROG Swift PG278Q Monitor. Im sure everyone is going to suggest going with a 980 or even 980ti, but I simply cannot afford that at the moment.

Also, will the 780 be DX12 compatible whenever it does drop cause I know the new cards run cooler and have a WAY higher overclocking ceiling. Unless I am sadly mistaken. Any information would be greatly appreciated and I thank anyone who responds to this post in advance.

Paying $350 for gtx 970 is a waste, even if you plan on going SLI, still waste. Your GPU is so strong that it's close to the gtx 970 in performance. if you said you can go sli in a couple of months, then just go for a gtx 980 ti, in a couple of months, or even better wait for pascal, hell your GPU is still a top-tier unit, you can get a year or two out of it, just cut game settings a bit lower, don't waste your money.

You need to have strong PSU if you plan on upgrading to SLI 970s

I'm currently running a 1000W EVGA PSU.
