Hi all, first time on these forums for a few years...

It's been almost 10 years since my last desktop build, so thought it time to build a new one.

Looking to buy this week with a budget of £1,000, and will need to replace everything except for case, mouse and keyboard. I've got an Antec P180 case which I love, though may replace the keyboard and mouse if in budget.

It's going to be a general use PC, so want to be able to use it for quite a variety of things, home media, some office work, a little bit of gaming, some basic photoshop & music production stuff, but nothing too intensive.

Produced the below spec so far after a bit of research, but there's still a few things I haven't picked yet, and interested to know of any better suggestions for the things i've already picked, and if they'll work well together. Bang for buck is of course prime, so wouldn't mind reducing cost on some of the things listed if better alternatives, though probably won't overclock, if so only slightly, and any element of future proofing for potential upgrading in future would be good where possible.

Thanks in advance!

Okay, here is a build. Not sure about your requirements for photoshop and music, the i5 should do it no problem. You might even get away with an i3-6100, save yourself about £70.00 if you did the switch. I switched out your PSU, you do not need a 650W, 550W is more than enough for this build. Hope I got all parts correct, some information was not clear.
