So my parents bought me a pre-built three years ago. It never really ran well but I managed. Well last week, the video card constantly crashed when I was trying to play video games so I decided it was time to upgrade. I got an AMD R7 260x OC 2gb and a EVGA 500w silver (since old PSU wasn't compatible with the graphics card). I installed the new PSU with the old video card and the computer runs well (using it right now to type this message), but when I installed the R7 260x and turned on the computer it doesn't start. The keyboard and mouse lights up and the fans on the R7 spin but the display turns on for half a second then turns off. The display turns on and off every 30 seconds or so. The computer never reaches the BIOS at all.

This is the pre-built I have: https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/M51BC/

Here are my specs:

System Model: M51BC
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor 3.3GHz
NEW Video card: AMD R7 260x OC 2gb
NEW PSU: EVGA 500w 80+ Silver

What I have tried:

Constantly restarting the computer and punching the wall out of frustration and crying myself to sleep
Spamming F2/F10/DEL to get to BIOS on start up but never got to the BIOS
Moving PSU cables around and out of the way to see if there was a short
Unplugging Disc Drive and Hard Drive
Uninstalling old AMD Driver and running new video card on no driver
Installing the R7 260x driver and running the new video card on that
Asking the computer nicely to work (still didn't)

Possible problems:

The video card is broken as heck
The motherboard isn't compatible with the video card (probably isn't this because it plugged into the motherboard correctly)
The motherboard is too damn old
I'm a moron and messed up my computer
and more...

Feel free to ask for more specifications according to specs and other questions. Feel free to call me an idiot and make fun of my shoddy specs. But please try to help me out, I want to play video games again...
