i recently bought a PNY - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card at first i didnt know i needed a new power supply so i went and got a new one its a 450w and the card needed 400w min so when i got that working i went to install my graphics card but its not working when i start it up i get the start up menu where it says the info about the esc button at the bottom of the screen but it doesnt go anywhere from there it gives me a quick beep 1 time a min (gives it off about 2 or 3 times so about once a min for 2 or 3 mins) then 3 quick beeps in less then 30 seconds then my screen goes black its not my power supply and it shouldnt be my ram because it needs a min of atleast 2-4 and i got 6 (unless i do need to buy more ram maybe?) but then the instructions tell me to enter the systems BIOS setup and look for the "Primary Display Adapter" or something similar. set this to "pci".... i have no clue how to get to the bios settings i tried pressing f10 but i cant seem to find what there talking about, i have a hp pavilion p7 with wondows 10 am i doing something wrong?

Solution
Just so that you know it is 400 watts for just he graphics card not including the wattage used by the rest of the system which for that system is low which means you might be fine. That being said, as long as your system is posting then it should be fine. As for getting into the BIOS you have to spam the appropriate key. This means pressing it a bunch of times while your system is first turned on and posting. The key to press differs from HP to HP. The ones I have worked with use either the ESC key, DEL key, F9 key or F10 key.

This might help...
