Locked CPU with a factory overclocked GPU

Hello to all , i am intending to build my first gaming pc and was wondering if a factory overclocked gtx 970 would work with intel core i5-6500 , would it run without troubles or would i be better off with standard gpu ?

Yes that will work no problem. The OC on the GPU has nothing to do with the OC (or lack of) on the processor.

Yeah of course. Like gam3er01 said the overclock on your gpu wont affect the cpu, at least not in any way you need to care about.

Nufious :

The CPU (Central processing unit) and GPU (Graphics processing unit) are two completely different processors that interact with each other, but operate individually.

As such, it does not matter if you overclock one and not the other, so you will have no issues if you buy what youre looking at.
