Alright guys, I wasn't able to find this specific problem, so I've decided to post here. Bought a desktop PC, came with keyboard and mouse. The PC came with Windows 10, i7-6700, gtx 970, gigabyte mobo, 8Gb DDR4, and a 2 Tb hdd. The problem: 70% of the time when the computer is started up (from sleep, or after shutdown), the mouse doesn't show up. It's powered on, but not recognized until its unplugged and plugged back in. I've tried everything from uninstalling, reinstalling mobo drivers, updating bios, updating everything.. Everything. And even changing settings such as power save options and even a registry edit fix I found. Switching to a different mouse doesnt work either. I've called tech support for the manufacturer, Windows, and even geeksquad. Everyone blamed the other person, and issue was never resolved. Any help is much appreciated.
P.S. Using the keyboard to get to device manager when mouse failed, I was able to see that the mouse came up as unknown device, and "device descriptor request failed" code 43 etc.

Solution
First stop the automatic device drivers feature in your OS, then try and locate drivers for your mouse online usually from the (mouse)manufacturers support site, uninstall your mouse from Device Manager and try and reinstall mouse drivers. You can try running the drivers for your mouse via compatibility mode:
Right click installer>Properties>Compatibility Tab>Windows 7/8[from drop down menu]

Try a repair install and see if the issue is averted while you could also take a look at this guide but please back up your critical data before proceeding as Windows 10 is known to go belly up unexpectedly.
