dual chan memory

so i always thought dual chan memory was matched to the colors on the ram slots..
just noticed on my mother board while i was admiring it..
near the ram it has "A1 a2, B1 b2"

so im going to assume for to get dual chan you must install 2 of the same types of ram in a1 and b1 and the other 2 of in a2 and b2?

In that case, A1+B1 (black) go together, as do a2+b2 (Red).

So if you have a dual channel kit, they should be installed in the black slots.

yes.. slots a1 and b1 are black...a2 and b2 are red.
