Hi all,

an infuriating problem trying to build my sons PC.

I've got as ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard that was from a working system, but no matter what I try, I just can't get the graphics card to work - it'll only display through the iGPU.

To date two CPU's have been tried (both known working), two power supplies (first known working, second brand new 600w) & two graphics cards (one known working, and one bought as working and warrantied).

Within the bios we've tried to change the default from 'Auto' to PCI-e but it keeps setting itself back to auto.

The graphics card we're trying now has been tried in both slot 1 & 2 and both read as PCI-e speed 0x.

The iGPU is connected to monitor via HDMI - would this cause a problem?

Many thanks for any help.

Hi, sorry google translation

I know it's too late, but I'm in the same case. It is a failure of the motherboard that does not have a good solution, just acceptable. Apparently the port pci-e is not able to initialize x16 and is not detected. If in addition to the graphics card in the upper port at the same time inserts any card in the middle port, then the speed is divided by two x8 & x8 and the graphics card already works.
