Ram was causing no bios and boot failures?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOaQxLjnKEo - what my pc was doing beforehand
so I first took out my 2nd stick of ram last night and it fixed that, then it did it again so I stuck it back in and cleared cmos and it worked for a while.
Then this morning as my pc was updating it shut down again like it was doing before, so I tinkered with it trying a few different things before pulling the stick out again, and lo and behold my pc booted up flawlessly. What is confusing me however is how my pc did it again after the first time I pulled the stick of ram out, then was functioning with it installed for a while, should I be worried about other parts of my system contributing to the failures to boot?

Update: could it be my system was recognizing the bad ram and not utilizing it until the update? Just read how rust plays with 4gb ram and I seemed to be having the same symptoms(freezes due to not enough ram and needing to load off the HDD) when I played last night with both sticks installed
