Hi

so i was just playing fallout 4 and my computer turned off while playing so at first thought i was thinking motherboard or my new PSU. so i open up my pc and test my PSU with a adapter i got of EVGA which it put on the atx cable and then you turn on the psu by the back and if the psu is running its okay. so that is the psu rulesed out.

I then plug in my power cables for my master drive that being the ssd and the GPU and then the CPu cable. I turn on the pc and i load to windows so i'm wondering if it was a surge and my pc turn off to protect my pc.

or is it one of the computer parts that caused it like maybe the motherboard.

i will plug in my other hard drive like it was before and load up the pc so i will be back on the forum in 10 minutes

OCCT stress test. If your pc shuts down during it it's the psu. Is this the only time your pc shut off? Was it only during that game has it happened since while playing that game? Does it happen with other games? Did everything in your room/area shut off? It could be entirely unrelated to the pc. Like someone was turning on a space air heater coupled with your pc could've put a lot of extra stress or pulling to much power out of the socket. Did a breaker trip?

If it occurs again i'd be worried, but losing power happens, to everyone it could've even been a power outage. If the issue happens again in the same game then theirs an issue. Maybe someone was using a blow dryer on the same power line. Who knows?

I only have a two socket wall plug next to my pc. one socket is for my wifi extender and the other has an extension cable which had my £90 LG 1080p screen, low end speakers and psu plugged in. I now have replaced that with a surge one my dad had. it might of been the extension leed you never know.
