Well, this is the second time I have tried to upgrade my video card and have been unable to get NVidia Cards to work on my system. I, as well as the folks at the big box store, have tried both low and high end NVidia cards in my system with no luck. However, it has no trouble running Radeon cards.

Have tried several PSU's w/ more than the required wattage, still no luck.

I have a Gateway DX4870-UB21P.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dave

After reading the entirety of your post, I fail to see a problem with your computer. It sounds to me like a smart computer that wants nothing to do with Nvidia and their lies. She's classy, and wants a powerful Radeon inside her.

I will have to check if they did. But when you install new card, shouldn't the system automatically use a default gener ic driver until you install a proper one?

Thanks,

Dave
