Hello everyone,

I have a curitle mobile phone with this version:
S/W version: PC7100M0T22.189
H/W version: PC7100_REV_00

I had been using my Curitel mobile phone as a modem via PC-7100 USB cable in the windows xp. But when I have tried connecting my Curitel mobile phone in windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit, I have found out that windows 7 didn't find any driver for Curitel mobile phone, and the Device wasn't recognized at all by Windows 7.

I have tried looking at the hardware ID, but I didn't find any id.

Also, I have tried looking for driver in the Internet, but I couldn't find any. So, I am quite surprised about when I have tried connecting my Curitel mobile phone via USB in windows xp, the Windows xp immediately recognizeded the drivers for this device ( Curitel mobile phone). Also, I have looked for a drive compatible with windows 7, but I didn't find Windows 7 is listed in the OS compatibility. I only found other OS:

Name: USB Cable Device Driver and Modem Driver
Manufacturer: Curitel Communications Inc Drivers
Type: Input Device Drivers
Model: Curitel Communications Inc Input Device Drivers
Support Devices:
Audiovox Com Port, Audiovox Usb Modem, Audiovox Usb Phone, Audiovox WDM, Bluetooth dongle, Card Reader, LG COM Port, LG Usb Modem, LG Usb Phone, LG WDM, MOTOROLA CDMA modem,
OS: Win 95A, Win 95B, Win 98, Win 98SE, Win ME, Win NT 4.0, Win 2K, Win XP, Win Server 2K3
Size: 5.79 MB
Download: 337
Updated Time: Dec 14, 2011

I would highly appreciate it if you could help me with this.

Should I move my thread to another forum section since there are no replies at all.

Sometimes the device manager shows this once my Curitel mobile phone is connected:
original

I have tried googling the hardware id shown in the screen shot above, and I found
a driver Curitel Communication Inc. Driver for Hewlett-Packard - HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC (103C_5335KV G=N L=CON B=HP S=PAV/0595100000244710000020100- SKU:LM610EA#A2N) working on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

I tried downloading and installing PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP)(sp46889), but that make no difference, and my device is still not recognised by Windows 7 Home premium 64bit.

My questions are:
1- What drivers can let my Curitel Mobile phone be recognised by Widnows 7?

2- What is "PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP)(sp46889)" for?

Thanks a lot for your kind thoughts. But could you please take some of your precious time out to follow my post details below, and and address my questions in the bottom of this post:::

1- But, when I purchased the USB Cable(Connectivity Adapter Cable) used to connect my mobile phone to a compatible PC with USB Port connection, I was given a CD-ROM included for Drivers & Utilities for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP. (PG-7100 PCSync > Curitel Packet Service, PG-7100 PCSync, and USB Driver. When I installed USB Driver on Windows XP on a Desktop Computer Pentium 3, then the Windows recognized the mobile well, and I was using my mobile phone as modem to connect to the internet.
However, when I installing the USB drivers included in CD-ROM for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP on Windows XP professional SP1, Windows didn't recognise the mobile phone connected to USB port(USB Device not recognized). Also, the same thing happening with Windows 7.

2- Before installing the USB drivers for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP included in CD-ROM given with the USB cable used to connected my mobile phone to my notebook(HP Pavilion) on a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, I found Windows didn't recognize the USB Device. The device is not recognised' unknown'.

However, when I installing the USB driver for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP, then the device became recognized as Curitel Communications Inc under 'other devices' category. (Screen shot below). But, the my mobile is still not recognised by Windows, although the USB device became recognized as Curitel Communications Inc

a driver Curitel Communication Inc.

3- Why is the mobile not recognised by Windows 7, although the device USB was recognised as Curitel Communications Inc after installing the USB drivers for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP

4- I have not found an e-mail to contact the phone vendor. Do you have any?

5- I have tried installing the USB drivers included in CD-ROM for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP
in comparability mode, but that made no difference.

6- I even tried installing DriverIdentifier, DriverAgent Utilities, but both of them didn't help me to identity the right drivers for Curitel Communications Inc for Windows 7. So, I have cleaned up them from my system.

7- I have tried installing DriverToolKit, PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP), and PG-7100 PCSync, but no help and I have tried uninstalling them. I don't want to mess my system with installing drivers not right.

1. there are likely no drivers as I said, here is a post from 2011, no replies to it so likely it won't work http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/is-curitel-communications-inc-drivers-not-compatible-with-wind-7

2. it does not matter, it's just another device that has nothing to do with yours, but matches the core chipset according to the link.

3. because it's an older device and Windows 7 does not know how to communicate with it fully

4. the name you listed does not seem to exist as a brand or company for phones, are you sure that is the right spelling? There is CuraTel which has a wireless phone service called CTL.

5. see 1

6. those are mostly spam, see 1

7. see 1

Thanks a lot,
1- I am always used to google the drivers for unrecognized devices with using their Hardware IDs, and when find the drivers, then the derivers define the unrecognised devices. So, I think this driver "PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP)(sp46889)" should have defined the device well as long as I have tried googling the hardware id shown in the screen shot above, and I found a driver Curitel Communication Inc. Driver for Hewlett-Packard - HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC (103C_5335KV G=N L=CON B=HP S=PAV/0595100000244710000020100- SKU:LM610EA#A2N) working on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

2- I even have not find any entities, icons, programs added to my System when installing "PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP)(sp46889)" . This is strange. I have looked up in the Add/remove programs in the control panel, and I have not found any, and I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to look for any entries for PANTECH Handset USB Composite Device (UDP)(sp46889)" to be uninstalled, I have not found any of them.

Yes, my phone is very old, and is now no longer available in the market, it was purchased in 2007. I have not found more information other than what is said below::
This information typed under Cabinet of that battery:
CDMA Cellular Phone Made No: PC-7100.
Manufacturing Date 2007.04
ESN:00607150458.
Made by: Curitel Communications Inc

If you have looked at these information written in the settings of my mobile> Version>

S/W version: PC7100M0T22.189
H/W version: PC7100_REV_00

Also, there is a name typed on the cover of mobile as Curitel
Also, these files are included in the CD-R given with the USB Cable.
