Kboost wont activate

If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to activate it? The feature is used to force the card to run at its max speed in programs that would normally not run it with turbo clock or not detect the OC, for example. Unless you're doing benchmarks and you notice the card not running at it's full potential, then you don't need it.

To answer your question, there are certain programs that have to be closed for you to active Kboost. I believe Precision X tells you what to close, but I'm not sure.

I would like to turn it on so that i can get better GPU usage because for some reason, my GPU usage, doesnt go over 70% on BF4, and unless you can help me, I dont know of anything else i can do.

3.50 GHz I dont plan on overclocking

On BF4 on ulra everything, im getting around 20-45 frames in a firefight.

It is off

Didnt mean to choose best solution.....

I get 80-90% during game play. Also, I'm not sure what speeds I get on my GPU.

(Before I got a new powersupply, i got a max 40% usage but since i got the new one i got up to 70)

New Powersupply: EVGA 220-G2-0850-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 850 W

And, I will check afterburner in game real quick.

(p.s sorry for my rudeness as I have been having problems for so long. I had a gtx 960 and had the same problem now i have this card with the same problem, I have been doing troubleshooting type things for the last couple weeks and I am extremely frustrated. I am fairly new to the PC world.

From what you wrote, it sounds like something is Bottlenecking your system. Normally the i5-4690k shouldn't bottleneck, unless it's throttling due to heat problems. Have you tried monitoring the temps of your CPU while playing? Also, how much RAM does your system have?

I hope you mean core clock... I'm a noob at this.

If thats what you meant it was at 1405 MHz the entire time

And no, should I test my temps?

Just tested my temps.... All 4 CPUs were at 97-100 degrees Celsius. I guess thats my problem huh?

You're currently burning your CPU alive. Just sayin. Honestly, that's 100% your probem. 98 degrees celsius is enough for your CPU's silicon to start melting, according to Intel... you either have something defective, or your cooler isn't working. I have an I5-4690k running at 4.6Ghz (30% Overclock) and at idle it stays between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius...

What cooling system do you have?

H80i GT, not the best, but I have another advantage. Your room temperature affects the CPU a lot, since it can't run colder than the room it is in. I live in Canada and my computer is in the same room I sleep in. It's the only room in my house that I don't use heaters in, even now during winter. The temperature in my room is probably between 17 and 21 Celsius at the moment.

That isn't a fair comparison if the OP has the stock cooler.

Very true, I'm also a person who can't sleep in any room where the temperature is too high, so my ambient air temperature is probably colder than most. However, I wanted to bring this fact so that he could realize that buying a third-party cooler for his processor was probably his best option.

There is a heater in my room... I think I should get a new cooler, and turn my heater down. Do you recommend the one you have or...? I really dont want to spend a whole lot.
