Hello,

I've bought a gigabyte radeon r9 290x windforce video card 4 months ago. I had some problems with it , 2 times I sended it back to my garantee service for artefacts problem. They replaced it with a "new" one (it's not a new one, because the polotics of the gigabyte is to repair the video card not to change it for a new one) and today i've received it. When i turned on my pc it worked like for 20 min (benchmark test (heaven)) and restared the pc. That happend the previous time before i sended it back to them. My question is- do my components work correct( they are all new ). Here is my confg. please give me an advice or tell me smth about it. When I test it with Heaven and check my GPU+12V is 11,6V (now) . My previous card normal V was 11,8-9. I just cant get it. Tried to play CS (max video settings) and it was runing with 150-300fps but sometimes dropped it to 50fps for 2-4 sec. The question is why my pc is still restarting ?

GPU: gigabyte radeon r9 290x windforce
CPU: AMD FX X8 8350, 4000MHz, 16MB, socket AM3+, Box
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB (2x4GB), DDR3, 1600MHz, CL10, 1.5V
Motherboard : Asus M5A78L-M LX3, Socket AM3+
PSUs : Thermaltake Smart SE 630W / Fortron FSP700-80BPN (I have 2 PSUs, with both of them i have the same problem)

Solution
If the pc is just randomly restarting it sounds like it could be the PSU causing the problems, Thermeltake aren't known for making the best powersupplies out there.

Okey, got it , but the thing is that I did not turn on anything. Just starting the computer and waiting for the restart. What I'm trying to say is that if the video is pushed ( play some game at high graphics ) and restart - that seems right. But when nothing is turned on and PC is still restarting ...

It could be that the powersupply is so far gone that it is failing even at idle loads, I really can't think of anything else that could cause the computer to randomly restart after it booted perfectly.

I remember a few months ago a built a system that kept restarting instantly after it was turned on, I later figured out that the 8 pin connecting to the motherboard was damaged. prob not your problem but might be worth checking out.
