GPU makes PC case hot

I have the Apex 3620 case and my rig's GPU is the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC edition. The card's temps are fine (65 to 68 Celsius) but the case's area where the card is located gets very hot. Like, you can really feel those 68 degrees down there if you touch it and, sometimes, there is a smell of heated metal. My case has a fan on the lower part in the front which cools the HDDs and a second fan on the highert part in the back that helps CPU airflow. I also have it under my desk and it touches the right side of my desk. Ambient room temps range from 20 to 25 Celsius. Should I be worried? Is this normal for a PC case? Do I need to make room for better airflow?

Thanks in advance.

You should have at least one cooler that takes the air out of the case. If you bought your GPU recently you could also swap it for a GPU with different cooling design that exhausts the air directly outside case.

Mobo temps are at about 35 degrees, indeed. I'm thinking of mounting a fan on the side of the case (even though the case doesn't allow you to do that). I could still take advantage of its holes, though. Is that safe?
