I'm going to be getting a new computer off Ibuypower(I've had good experiences with them in the past and personally don't want to go through the hassle of building my computer myself.) in the next month or two and I saw they had Thermaltake TPG DPS G 850watt power supply as one of the options. Its 80 Plus gold rated but I wanted to make sure this going to be a good power supply and one that will be reliable for my components.

I'm going with a 850watt since I want to eventually go for the top tier Nvidia card when the next gen ones come out and possibly SLI it. But in the mean time will have a 970 in my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - There isn't a trustworthy review of this exact item, but it's predecessor the 850 without the G got a 9.3 from jonnyguru.com, one of the top testing sites for PSU's. I would feel very confident with that item. The OEM is CWT (Channell well Tech) and they have the ability to mfg just about any quality level a brand contracts for. It appears it is a replacement (upgrade) for the other unit which tested well. I'd go for it if it's in your budget range and you do in fact need 850w.

Ah thank you for letting me know, I'm gonna go with this then, I just hope the cables included are long enough to fit a corsair 760t. Is Thermaltake known for having short cables on their power supplies?

Hi again - I've never seen a comment with their cables being short. My guess is you'll find them to be plenty long.

It is highly unlikely TT would reduce the quality on an upgrade.
