how to recover my files from my buffalo hard drive... the driver runs but did not pop up the files that were in store. Please

I could not open my files that are stored in the hard drive (Buffalo 500GB).
When I plug in my laptop, the computer ask for the password to my hard drive but after that non of my files retrieved even though the light on the hard drive blinks.
NOT sure how to get back all my important files.

Hi there aliya79,

Is the password accepted? Is your drive recognized by Disk Management and Device Manager? What do you mean by files not being retrieved? You can locate and open the drive but the files are just not there or you can't find the HDD?

In case the drive is recognized by Disk Management but has damaged partitions or file system(appears as unallocated, RAW, etc.), you can use some data recovery software: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html
