I use Microsoft Windows 7, 32 bit. Have an Atheros wireless network adaptor and drivers are up to date. The Microsoft Virtual WiFi mini adapter drivers are not updating. Since this morning I have lost my wifi connection and cannot connect to the Internet unless I plug in the network cable to the router.

In the morning the only thing I had a problem with was setting up my Microsoft Live Mail 2012 network connection because it kept saying not connected to the network. I have tried re-setting the virgin router but no luck.

What else should I check/do?

I have already restored laptop back to this morning when something to do with Active X was updated. e.g, should I uninstall Windows essentials and re-install.

Would appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

NB. There are two issues.

1. WiFi lost on my Asus laptop

2. Using Ethernet cable to router Windows live mail 2012 is only updating my gmail account but failing on my Microsoft one. Perhaps this should be the subject of another query? Thank you again.

Thank you but

1. how do I uninstall it e.g. Is it done through the device manager?

2. Then will the laptop know which driver to install and what is the process to re-install it?

Apologies for being dumb but I am finding my way around the software and am wary of doing something wrong and making a hash of it.

Appreciate your help.
Regards

Item 1 has resolved itself overnight without having to uninstall and reinstall drivers! We have unlimited broadband so no idea what the issue was but I did notice another Windows update on 21st as I had 4 but when I looked today there are 6 installed.

Item 2 the issue with Microsoft Live Mail 2012 still an issue with the hotmail account but it is showing Google emails therefore there has to be something wrong with Microsoft mail. It seems this may be a long running problem and I am not sure how to fix it.
