Hi,
So my good old msi gtx560ti hawk just died on me after 3 year of service. So this is the calling for me to upgrade my GPU. I am browsing between GTX960, GTX970 and GTX980. (Ti/no Ti)

My computer spec is:
PSU: corsair TX650 watt.
CPU: Intel Core I-7 2700K (sandy bridge)
RAM: 12GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz
Hard Drive: 3 Corsair SSD
Motherboard: Some MSI one, Z78 or Z76 can't remember.
Optical Drive: got a CD drive.
CPU Case: Corsair Graphite 600T

So can my current system handle the GTX980 or 980Ti, seeing recommended PSU is 400W where my 560 was 450.

My system is about 3 year old, so does the old PSU has affect on my new GPU?
Would you recommend 960 970 or 980? My main use case is probably playing video games (dota2 and cs:go mostly) maybe some new games. Might want to explore into streaming a bit.

Solution
You could go for the full 980 with your spec pc no problem. The 970 is much better for price to performance though, especially with the games you are playing.

Agreed, the 970 gives a much better price/performance ratio, the 960 would be nice as well, but don't get the 980/ti unless you have money to blow.

970 is suffice, even the 960 would be able to handle it well.

there are so many version and brands, do you guys have an recommended one for 970? I was looking into EVGA and MSI. Should I go with the SC version? (doesn't that pull more power)?

I would choose between the gtx 970 and the gtx 980 ti, the gtx 980 is kind of forgotten now because it is not much better than the gtx 970, but it is much more expensive. I can see you choosed the ASUS gtx 970 strix, good choise! :D
