Here's the deal,

Recently on some occasions, when saving a file, opening a program, or really anything that opens up a new window, the icon that pops up on the windows taskbar but it does so about 15 times in very quick succession (takes about 1-2 seconds). It sort of looks like its sliding behind itself as if it were opening up many instances of itself. However once it finishes, there are no problems.

I also use Open Hardware Monitor to keep an eye on my SLI GPU temps and such. The "gadget" disappears and reappears randomly and when opening up chrome and such.

Finally, also occasionally, an open folder screen will flicker when I click somewhere on the screen while files are being transferred.

All of these issues started at the same time about a week ago and I am unsure how to fix them.. I use Display Fusion which is a dual monitor program but it has never been an issue before.

Id really appreciate some help on this guys. The Windows 7 Forum seemed to be the most applicable for this issue but I dont know for sure,

Thanks

Sound like adware and virus infections, download malwarebytes antimalware, update and scan. Relatively small download but super excellent product, also you can try emsisoft emergency kit which is free but 200mb download, update and scan. Make sure to check PUP which is unwanted programs or programs known to install adware on your pc without permission.

This was the issue i believe, but I ran malwarebytes right after it started and removed everything from my computer that it found. I also used Super Anti Spyware and CCleaner and cleared all the stuff it found. Still having the problems though.

Super antispyware is crap in my opinion, but has decent cookies scanner, cookies to can cause have havoc also, but delete some and leave those that deal with sites like this to make logins easier. Try emsisoft also since it use a double scanning engine one of which is Bitdefender, top tier antivirus engine. It is known to find issues missed by malwarebytes, thus it should be run after malwarebytes, because some of those things found by emsisoft but ignored by malwarebytes is possibly fale-positives. Quarantine these items, some will be real infections and some possibly false-positive, in course of updating emsisoft regularly it will eventually notify due to the updates which are false positive. Also use your discretion if it flags products which are well respected for example, "safe money" hook of kaspersky which protects your banking details.

In command prompt you can also try "sfc /scannow", note type without quotations. I've used numerous times without any issue on my windows 7 installation. This will repair any issues and fails rarely. Once completed reboot, and command prompt type "chkdsk" for double check. Then use pc and see if the problem is resolved.
