Where is the best place to put my PC? Floor(carpet) or Table(wood), does it matter?

Just bought my new PC and want to try keep it in the best condition possible and keep it from crashing etc. Where would be best or doesn't it really matter?

Thank you.

If you want to put on the floor i would suggest to use some kind of base. A shelf and some industrial wheels would be perfect. The problem is that every little dust particle on your carpet would eventually go into the power supply. Assuming that your power supply is on the bottom of your case (with the fan grill facing the floor).

If you really have to put it on the carpet, turn the psu inside the case upside down (fan grill facing the top of the case). This is not ideal for the psu, as it will suck the hot air from the case. Especially if you have a top flow card instead of reference.

Put it somewhere so that you can reach the power on button and plug in usb sticks and headphones if that is what you use.
Do not put it too close if the noise will bother you.
I might suggest a small stool or table about 1-2 feet high on the left side of your desk or table with your monitor.
That lets fresh air circulate freely around it.
The left side will be quieter with any case window further away from you.
