I have recently started to notice a slow down in my computer. Found that the bios is no longer seeing all of my installed ram. I have an hp diagnostic maintenance scan that showed my 8gb of ram with 2gb in each of the 4 slots with serials #s and all. Now when i do the diagnostic on the memory is says 4 gbs but lists the same 4 slots with corresponding Serials # just as before... Bios shows 2gb each in channel 3 and 4 but none in 1 or 2.
I also did the Crucial memory scanner to see if it would see all 8 gbs and it did not. But cpuid-cpuz did a scan and saw the 8 gbs... so now what do i do to get all of the ram working again,

Here is my machine
Hp Hpe 310t
I-5 7502 2.67 ghz
64 bit win 7 home premium
Ati Radeon hd5570
4 sticks of 2gb of samsung ddr3 sdram (1333) installed

this is what the diagnostics shows from today
Memory Total Physical Memory 4.00 GB 2048 MB DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Size 2.00 GB Memory Type DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Manufacturer Samsung Memory Manufacture Date Week 24, Year 2010 Memory Part Number M378B5673FH0-CH9 Memory Serial Number 65043E80 2048 MB DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Size 2.00 GB Memory Type DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Manufacturer Samsung Memory Manufacture Date Week 24, Year 2010 Memory Part Number M378B5673FH0-CH9 Memory Serial Number 65043E7F 2048 MB DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Size 2.00 GB Memory Type DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Manufacturer Samsung Memory Manufacture Date Week 24, Year 2010 Memory Part Number M378B5673FH0-CH9 Memory Serial Number 65043E55 2048 MB DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Size 2.00 GB Memory Type DDR3-SDRAM (1333 MHz) Memory Manufacturer Samsung Memory Manufacture Date Week 24, Year 2010 Memory Part Number M378B5673FH0-CH9 Memory Serial Number 65043E7E
but about 8 months ago... the total seen was 8gb ...with the same listing of 4 sticks.

Ok after much reading (4 hours worth) I decided to play musical sticks. i tried everything pulled 2 & 4 and left 1 & 3... no boot... cleaned the sticks with alcohol and used compressed air on the slots. reinserted and same as before 4 gbs of 8 installed showed in bios. Pulled 1 & 3 and left 2&4 ... booted with 4gbs of 4 gbs installed showing. cleaned and blew. Pulled 2 and left just the 4 slot...booted showed 2gbs of 2 gbs installed. Put the stick from 2 into 1 and booted still showed 2gbs of 4 installed... decided my fingers were tired of pulling and pushing and just reinstall the remaining sticks... booted and gee there is now 8gbs of 8gbs showing and being used....

so i resolved it myself... but am aware i am most likely going to be buying a new computer in the next year.. but here in may this HP will have made 6 years with only a psu issue.

Thanks
