hi all, as the title says, i was trying to plug in a usb extension cable to connect my gamepad wireless receiver to the usb port on the back of mobo..but it accidently touched the usb port metal part and mobo backplate metal simultaneously..and then my pc restarted..though it's working fine but i'm fearing i might have damaged something (due to obvious short circuit)...btw the gamepad receiver as well as all the ports on the back of mobo are working fine..as is the pc itself..
if any damage to mobo might have occured...how do i check for it plz reply.!
my mobo model is gigabyte gab75m d3v rev2.0 and my gamepad was logitech f710..if it matters at all..

You're probably fine, as long as the specific USB port is still working
The PC restarted itself out of safety - it might have short-circuited a second and sometimes it does brake something, but you seem to be good.
It happens to a lot of people I can tell you that.
The PC restart is comparable with a RCD/RCCB in your home's electrical installations that would turn of if you put your finger in a power socket - it shuts all the power in the house down instantly, but you might have been electrocuted, or you might not :p
