i am connecting kingston 16gb g4 in usb 3.0 port and transferring files on it at about 8.5 MB/s and i am getting the same speed in usb 2.0 port. isnt it a bit slow ? and how to increase it! my harddrive is showing minimal activity but the USB shows 100% activity during transfer in task manager

Solution
Cheap flash pen drives have slower flash memory in them.
And why you only get a write speed of 8.5Mb a second, or slower speeds on usb 2.0

And if plugged into a usb 3.0 port. The drive must be able to handle usb 3.0 port speeds and support usb 3.0 turbo boost.
or the new UASP speed protocols.

If Usb 3.0 enabled the plastic tongue of the usb flash pen, or drive should be blue in color.

Or.

Blue usb 3.0 device speed hardware capable.
Black usb 2.0 device speed hardware capable.
White usb 1.0, and 1.1 usb device speed hardware capable. IE quality of flash ram used.
