Web pages are taking too long to load on high speed (100mbps) connection.

I am using an ASUS RT-AC68U and I disabled QoS as it was like "File transfer" was always running at lowest priority no matter what the settings are. Even when setting default as "Highest" as well as "File transfer" to "Highest" I was downloading 10-20x slower than I used to on Telstra NBN (Australia) 100Mbps DL /40Mbps UL.

I had QoS on to give priorities to Nvidia Gamestream, Steam and Plex Media Server but my downloads suffered the tortures of the damned.

I disabled QoS, even changed the DNS back to my ISP's DNS Servers. I even tried disabling Port Forwarding and re-enabling UPnP and cleared my system and registery with Ccleaner. No DIce.

Not to mention restarting the PC and rebooting the router after each change.

I even ran CMD.exe as Admin and pinged Google and the results were nothing short of concerning.

The results were:

Pinging google.com [216.58.212.78] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 216.58.212.78: bytes=32 time=315ms TTL=46

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0%loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

315-316ms is horrendous ping!!!!

What do I do now? I am out of ideas. It seems like I ether get crippled download speeds or crippled page loading time.

HELP!

I reset my router, reverted the firmware via rescue mode (Was stuck with Merlin fork) and re-setup the entire router, WAN Wireless the works. I hate having to do that as it is so, so, so many settings to remember.

I pinged google again.

The results were:

A much better result.

EDIT: But for some reason I still have trouble with the Geforce Forums. All pages take 30-45 seconds to load and when I post it takes over 2mins between hitting the "Create Topic" and the post being completed, even though the site pinged at 15ms

Facebook pinged at over 200ms and loads in 1-2 seconds.

Use a trace route(tracert) to find out where the pings are coming from.

High pings can cause a lot of load time issues because many sites are chatty and need to make several back-and-forth communications. Just establishing a TCP connection with a 300ms ping takes 450ms. Establishing an HTTPS connection with a 300ms ping should take about 1800ms. Those are minimums.
