I have recently decided to buy an almost entirely new PC, with new MoBo, CPU, RAM, SSD, and CPU (air) cooler. We had no problems fitting the components, but when we got to booting it up, at first, there was only no video output, we then switched from DVI to HDMI(no VGA socket), but still no POSTing, so we swapped out the R9 285 DD, for another card with no PCIe power connectors needed, to elimate the chances of it being a power issue(will update with name as soon as I find out second card, sorry), but we still had no video output with VGA, and the BIOS FLBK_LED had become solid green. We, then decided to swap the sticks of RAM around, testing with one stick, to no avail, and the second, with still no progress. After this, the red CPU_LED had turned red, so we decided to reseat the CPU, which we did, and fit everything back without trouble, but the light remained, and the RAM_LED had, also, turned on, and so, looking on this website, I found the list containing the recommended steps to take before asking about POST/boot (etc.) issues (stickied), attempting to reset the CMOS, reseating the MoBo, and unplugging the reset switch, in case the system was endlessly rebooting, but nothing worked. I've decided that, in before RMAing the board, I'd ask for any additional help.

System Specs:
Motherboard - ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0
CPU - AMD FX4300
PSU - Corsair RM550
RAM - Kingston HyperX FURY 2 * 4GB (Blue)
GPU - AMD Radeon R9 285 DD
CPU Cooler - CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO (This cooler can twist, slightly, when above the CPU, could that be causing the temperature of the CPU to spike?)
SSD - OCZ ARC 100 120GB
Case - Zalman Z9 plus

Thank you for any help provided, in advance, it's all greatly appreciated, as I'm new to the whole PC building thing.

Solution
Then CPU is supported.
No need to update the BIOS.
If starting the board with only CPU and CPU fan installed, both 24 and 8 pin power cables connected, still red CPU LED?

So sorry, but we ran with just one stick of RAM, CPU, with stock cooler, and a third graphics card, again without PCIe power connectors, and tried to get it to POST, though, due to lack of system speaker, we were going entirely on video output and ended up getting nothing, so we've packed it up, and I'm getting a replacement CPU, so we can try it on either Tuesday, or Wednesday, and I'll get back to you on it. The RAM_LED turned out to, actually, be an EPU(?) switch, that was enabled, but it was supposed to be disabled, by default, so that's been solved. Thank you, again, I hope it works.
