Unifying receiver creates lag in games

I own a logitech B175 mouse (since last september) and I recently bought a logitech K230 keyboard which mace with a unifying receiver. And yes, I did unify the mouse and keyboard and use them with a single receiver. Now coming to the problem, when I am playing FIFA 14, it starts to lag and when I remove the receiver the lags went away. I dont know what causes this, but its a tedious process to not to use the keyboard while playing it online since I cant chat. I tried plugging the receiver in both usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
Thanks in advance :)

Are you sure it's a lag from the receiver or a delay in reaction from the keyboard or mouse? I use those unifying receivers all the time and have never noticed actual game play lag.

Try placing the receiver on a usb extension cord right next to the keyboard see if that helps. There should actually have been one of those cords with the keyboard box.

hang-the-9 thanks for the reply dude. I figured the problem out the next day. It's the new netgear n300 WiFi router that caused the problem. I already had n150 version. I bought the former for the extended range but say what, it was shitty enough to give me tonne of lags when I was playing online. I replaced it with my old one and it works now. And I returned the new router. Have a good day dude. Peace✌

Apparently these Unifying dongles can be interfered with 2.4GHz devices and/or USB 3.0 ports (some people have resolved it by plugging into USB 2.0 ports).

1. Not sure if using a different N channel works
2. Still on N routers? Time to switch to AC.
3. For some reason, I have the opposite of your problem. If I don't pair a Unifying keyboard to my dongle and just have mouse, it lags badly (I was using USB 3.0 to be fair so that's a known issue). However, the problem goes away when I unify both keyboard and mouse. I haven't figured out an explanation for this yet.

Hope this helps someone else using Unifying.
