Hi guys,
I currently have an r9 270 gpu, fx 6350 cpu along with 8GB ram. I have around £250 to upgrade plus the amount I will have by selling the components I'll be replacing. Thinking about an r9 290 but with only a 500W supply upgrading my power supply might hinder the effectiveness of this option. Thanks in advance!

there is no 500W so far in xfx psus... but usually xfx psu are all good
just check if you get 1x 6 pcie + 1x 8 pcie cable to be able to connect your r9 390

of course if you can afford an r9 390...it will be a huge improvement , just take note ...in the near futur you will need to go with intel setup

and 500W psu will run at full capacity all the time , so will last no longer

Would you know anything about buy r9 200 series cards right now as they aren't being produced? I was thinking about getting one off of eBay but I'm not too sure. As the card runs so hard the reliability may not be great.

ok but the fx 6350 will bottleneck your entire built...

but i did a build for you here

You will get a huge boost. FX-6350 will not be an actually major bottleneck to R9 390 so you are fine there. After you get the 390, your next upgrade should be switching to Intel.

That PSU is trash. Get a EVGA G2, GS, B2 or P2 power supply if you want to the a 390.

As I said, what is your current PSU? You may just get a GTX 970 without worrying about the PSU.

Currently have a 500W XFX. I'll see what I can get for my current PSU + GPU. If I can afford your power supply for 75 along with the 390 I'll go for that and if I can't I'll just wait until I have a little more money :)
