Hello,

I just built a computer and i started it and installed windows 10 with only my SSD plugged in. Once I realized that i had left my hard drive unplugged, i plugged it back in and formatted it as the started. The thing is, now i don't think the computer thinks its mine. The hard drive is completely empty even after multiple downloads and i was never asked where i want to download the application. Is there a way to format it correctly? maybe make it a local disk? I'm at a loss.

Thanks for any help.

you have to set EVERY SINGLE APPLICATION's default download location separately. There is no magic switch that will tell the apps that you have this huge hard drive and small SSD and you want all your steam games to save on the hard drive not the SSD. There is a setting in something like STEAM where you can set the default download/install folder

using steam as an example
open the app
click on "steam" -> settings -> downloads
click on steam library folders
chose the new location for your steam games
the application will download and install everything in that location.
