I'm building as compact a compute box as I can and want it to be able to play blu-rays.

Not looking for gaming box, so no g'card required, only quiet (a 120mm watercool solution). Single SSD.

Ideally I will be putting a Skylake 6700 in it, not worried about overclock, more or less running VMs and VLC. Just the smallest case ...

What case could I get - many seem oriented to 'fitting a g-card' in, or if not, are missing space for a 120mm water solution, and even fewer allow a slim drive for the blu ray.

Solution
This is a difficult demand because most cases that fit 120mm radiators are made for gaming.
I can only recommend the PC-Q28B and the PC-TU100 as the smallest cases that accommodate rads. Also check out any chassis with the HTPC denomination.

A i7 6700 doesnt really need watercooling because its non overclockable and as such doesn't reach very high temps

Personally(if your willing to go for aircooling), I recommend the Streacom F1C with a nano PSU. This chassis is incredibly small and is made of premium quality materials. Pair this with a quiet low profile noctua cooler and you've got a hell of an HTPC.
