i recently bought a GTX 960 ssc and a logisys 480W PSU, but i did not realize the card required a 8 pin plug in from the PSU. i know there are 4 to 8 pin adapters but im not sure which one would be compatible or not, any help would be appreciated.

+1

the card should have a dual 6-pin to single 8-pin adapter, use this

if your power supply does not have two 6-pin pcie cables

then you need to get a proper power supply that does

that is a very low quality brand psu you have, you should avoid adapters of any other kind

adapters are not ideal but they work and its pretty much fine, and companies would not provide them with their cards if they were not safe.

as i said, its ok to use the double 6-pin to 8-pin

I would not use any other type of adaptor if the unit lacked the dual 6-pin cables

something that converts sata to 6-pin for example, as that power supply is not very good
