Hi,

So i recently built a pc with a MSI 970A-G43. I have a AMD FX 6300 (which is a kinda good cpu) and a AMD HD 6570 2 gb (which is disgusting) and i read it might be bottle necking my cpu. So i want to overclock it until i can buy a new GPU. I read that my MOBO isn't the best for overclocking cpu's, is it the same for GPU's? thanks

Solution
No when overclocking the GPU you use a program to increase the clocks so it removes the motherboard completely from the equation. You can use MSI afterburner, Asus's GPU tweak, Sapphire TriXX, HIS iTurbo to overclock your GPU. What will limit your Overclock is the GPU itself. Some overclock great some don't so it comes down to your luck at the draw. Did you get a good OCer? only trying to overclock it will tell you this. Just be sure you have plenty of air flow through the case to keep the GPU cool to help.
